The Utility Department is located in Town Hall at 312 Esplanade
Street (417-334-3262). The regular working hours for the Utility
Department are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, closed
legal holidays.
The Utility Clerk is responsible for the accounting of the utility
system. The public works department read the meters monthly by the
15th. The utility system consists of the water, sewer, and trash
charges. Bills are mailed out by the last working day of each month
and are due by the 15th of the month without a 10% penalty. All
bills not paid by the 5th of the following month are scheduled for
disconnection. If a meter is disconnected there is a $25.00
reconnection fee during normal office hours and $37.50 after hours.
The utility clerk is responsible for billing and collection of
approximately 1,500 meters.
The utility department recommends that property owners check their
homes for any type of water leak (stool running, drippy faucet,
etc.) as the smallest leak can add several 1,000 gallons of water to
your billing.
Utility Service: To start new utility services in the city limits,
we require a $100.00 residential deposit. Commercial deposits vary

SEWER 21.15 (average customer using 5,000 gallons)
TRASH 10.93
State Fees and Taxes .50
