Animal Control is manned by the City of
Hollister Police Department. and is responsible for impounding
stray, lost, unwanted, vicious, sick and injured animals. The HPD
runs cruelty investigations, rabies control, issues lost pet
reports. Animal Control is responsible for enforcing local and
state ordinances regarding the care and control of animals.
DOG LICENSE REQUIREMENTS - Any dog residing in the City
limits of Hollister, must have a City dog license. License fees are
$3.00 due January 1st of each year, delinquent January 31st, after
this date there is a $25.00 penalty assessed. To obtain a dog
license simply provide a valid rabies vaccination certificate along
with a check or money order

Beginning January 01, 2007 all cats will be required to have a "licence" and proof of rabies vaccination. You can begin purchasing your cats license for 2007 immediately at Hollister Town Hall.
Licenses must be acquired before January 31, 2007 or a penalty fee of $25.00 will be added to the license fee of $3.00. |
City residents are allowed up to 3 animals
per resident.
Animals receive shelter at the Taney County Animal Shelter located
255 CRITTER ROAD in Hollister. Taney County Animal Shelter will
attempt to locate the rightful owner, and if no owner is found to
place the animal for adoption or to provide the animal a humane
euthanasia.
